Irises and red hot pokers were moved to the hill last year because they needed a bigger space.

And it looks like the Iris are on a slope. The rhizomes will love to be baked in the sun.

Yes, but the place is almost always in shade at the moment because tall trees are there up on the hill and tall palms next to it. Irises (and red hot porker at the top) get evening sun, though. Maybe in summer when the sun is higher up, they get more light during the day time.
