I think its a Weigelia.

Thanks Sue, I have a variegated Weigelia in front garden. Have just taken a bloom off of each and taken a photo. They are very similar. Once it comes through, I have to email it to myself to downsize and get from phone to tablet, I will post it.

Thanks Karen. The one in front garden was so much eaeier to ID lol and where flower petals slightly different as can see in next photo I wasn't sure. Will label it in my book as Weigela. Started a book last year listing my plants, and care as didn't know SO many lol.

You know you can do that on here Jen? Using the 'Garden' pages. Although having said that, I sometimes think it's better to have a 'hard' copy just in case!

Thanks Karen, I sort of doing both but handy having my little book, well it's last year diary, I ignore year but write in month plant that needs pruning say and where it is and what it looks like. Lol. Beginners guide lol

Great idea Jen! My friends keep giving me gardening journals for birthdays...I'm ashamed to say they never get used!

I have that same Weigela, it's a French cultivar called 'Carnaval'. It's nice because it doesn't grow as huge as some of the other varieties and it's the only Weigela I know of that has white and pink flowers.

Glad I'm not the only one with empty journals Karen! My notes are so haphazard anyway I'd never find them. Jen you are obviously much more organised than some of us!

That sounds very pretty Rkwrite, I will have to look it up. I had never had them before this garden.

lol Sue, I'm not really, I'm just pretending to be and don't know how long it will last. Where I'm new to most of this just find it quick to have a small go to diary with idiots guide to my garden :-).
