Added this Iris to my order on a whim, when I visited my Supplier's Portes Ouvertes, forgetting that I already have an orange, although the form is better on this.

It is a beauty, isn't it. Given to me by a generous lady.

If there are a lot, all with flowers open on a sunny day, the scent can be intoxicating.

Greater impact comes from a clump of the same colour, rather than the odd plant dotted here and there. For instance my Cameleon is a stand out clump now. The other orange in abundance, an identical tone, has an immediate impact.

You are correct
"rather than the odd plant dotted here and there."
Mine look like that at the moment

My new ones are dotty. With the really big older clumps, that are starting to intrude into their neighbours, I am just going to remove extended rhizomes from around the edge this year, and not lift the whole clump, to keep their impact for next year.

What else?
See who else is growing Iris germanica (Orris).
See who else has plants in genus Iris.

Your collection is fascinating to see. Each Iris has its own beauty - the white one is gorgeous.
