Yeah those are big thorns! I just got another golden raintree and think I am going to plant that instead. Hawthorns are very pretty trees though, there's a bunch of them planted in Washington DC that are beautiful in the spring.

I had never had one before but the colour this gives us and then the berries after, made us decide to put another Hawthorn in other corner. Luckly the dogs don't tend to go into that corner and I throw their balls the other way towards the drive. Will have to look up golden raintree. :-)

Just looked it up, it is a lovely looking tree!
