This came out today. Nice peachy colour and taller than the one from yesterday. I have a sea of leaves and flower buds at the moment. (Excuse the hose)

Thanks. I don't know Siris. What should I look for?

Thorny, The flowerbuds on the early varieties are distorted, where the midges have laid their eggs in the developing bloom.

I looked this up Siris and think I found five such buds. They seem to be fat and round as opposed to the others on the plant being longer and normal. Didn't take any chances, took them off and placed in sealed plastic bag. When it gets cooler they are going in the incinerator.

It's such a shame, just got into Day lilies and low and behold they have their own pest! Only the earlies, so I am told, but when does early start? Does it depend on the area of the country that one lives in?
