When planting seedlings, you never know how tall it will get. This was hidden down among the foliage of its neighbors, so it needs to be tried with a front row place.

My "garden" is all straight lines with plants 4 or 5 across. It gets confusing when they are staggered. Short ones and dormant types get planted on the south side.

It took a while to count, but I have a total of 947 daylilies, of which 290 are registered types (and 2 of those are mine).

My backyard is 4000 sq. meters, but includes a wooded area. I grow them because I like them. I like having a new garden every day since you never know what will be open. It also gives me a reason to get out of bed in the morning - taking photos, making seed crosses, and just seeing what is open. I have been known to send extra plants (free) to people who live in the EU. The complete set of photos that I have taken can be found at;

Would that be 4 acres then how wonderful you have a wooded area to you ll have to put some photos on of your wooded area.
How wonderful to think like that its a great way to think first thing in the morning even in winter here I open my back door to look around my garden from the door as I can see most of my garden straight out on it as its a small garden compared to a lot of others.
That is very kind of you to sentd extra plants to people Thank you I shall take a look .

I get exercise from going to the various areas. My land is a big U around the people behind me, and has different levels, so it is all downhill one way and uphill the other.

My main woods is about 1 km up a very steep hill. Now, there is a new road going up there. But for years it was a narrow dirt path that was overrun with weeds and blackberry vines. Lots of exercise getting up to it.

Yes it would be a long way to go do you pick the blackberrys

They are a plague! Birds spread the seeds all over the place and it is work trying to keep up with all the new ones that pop up.
17 Jun, 2017
I bet it is I ve had allotments where I ve had to clear with blackberries in years ago . So you dont pick the fruit then .

The local village council goes around in a truck every so often spraying, and unless it is grown deep in my backyard, I wouldn't trust eating anything growing wild. So no, I don't pick them.

I can understand that then if the local village council sprays them with the amount of traffic here now I would nt pick them either with all the fumes of the traffic down country lanes .
