Using grit and some coffee grounds on top of the soil seems to be a deterrent to the slugs and snails.

Lovely pot :)

Ooh I like the little one. The flowers have a real punch to them for the size of it.

Hywel, the brown pot was in Mums garden for years and, possibly, at her Mums before that!

Jen, it's a cute little Hosta isn't it?

Thanks Motty ... I don't think I have ever put Hostas in the ground ... always kept them potted!

I like them both, but that brown pot is amazing.

Thanks Waddy, OH reckons it should be valued as an antique! I think not ... :o)

Hey, you never know...stranger things have happened... :0)

I shall keep it as the family heirloom ... ha ha!

Lol! Sounds like a plan :-)

They had mouse ears in B&Q for sale so thats a first ....

Be careful with Canadian blue as the shape of the pot how will you get it out ... I learnt the hard way with a £20.00 pot had to be smashed to get my shrub out ...

Gg, I rarely go to B&Q for anything but perhaps I should take a look at their plant sales area!

I may divide the Canadian Blue in the Autumn, with great care ... :o)

To be honest the choice is so much better if you havnt been for a while I bet you will be pleasantly surprised

Why dont you plant in a plastic pot and sit it inside the ceramic brown pot will make it easier for you ...
