So many plants I've never heard of Stan!

Its pretty unusual even here. Its a bit tender to even light frosts. It can be a tree in warmer climates. I will just keep it potted. Safe from harm- like gophers.

Your Uncarina grandidieri looks great! It grows very large here. It is very tropical and tender to the slightest chill. There's large ones at the San Diego Zoo.

It just looks me to like it would be easy gopher food. This year they got my Phoenix rupicola. It was just starting to send out larger fronds..then stopped cold. I went to dig it up to re-pot it..no roots at all. Its been in a bowl of water since. Still alive. Once I see roots forming-if- I can pot it in perlite.
I had to do that before with plants. Some survive, some don't.

That's horrible! Dealing with gophers is the worst! I remember dealing with them in Mission San Jose, Fremont. It was a never-ending battle.

I'm hoping Andy that a Mangoes roots- more fine and sponge like rather then thick tap roots discourage a gopher. He might have to dig more then the roots are worth.
Now that its putting on a real flush in July ( last year it started in May) I get a kick out of seeing it get closer and closer to looking like something.

Yes, they flush during hot conditions. My little tiny mango seedling has flushed two times this year. It's in a small pot, so the growth in minimal.

I count seven fruit that might go on to ripen. You never know about all.
My small Champagne has slowed a bit. Its flushing, but it was a rocket the first year..the last 2? Slow. Looks healthy.

I saw an Apricot tree with a huge old furrowed trunk. Loaded with fruit. Maybe next year it and Santa Rosa plum someplace on this tiny lot!

If you have only seven mangoes they should be bigger than having lots of fruit on the tree.

I know Hayward used to be a huge apricot producing city. I love Santa Rosa plums.
