I bought an agapanthus, and this came up in the middle of it. While there is a plague of crocosima around, none are like this.

The species is one most people avoid, so I have to be careful it doesn't go wild and spread.

Even the accepted varieties spread very fast. But you can't be cross with them, they are so cheerful...

With the type commonly found here, I have spent years pulling and digging it out. When you are in an area it loves, then it can be a pest.

I can imagine you have a lot there then. I would nt say they were a pest as long as you keep on top of them to prevent them taking over.

My Lucifer doesn't spread away from its clump 3d but the clump gets very big and needs controlling in the spring.

Looks like Lucifer to me too. I dug up quite a few last year but still got a very health clump.

I am hoping this one isn't as bad as the others. It has been 3 years since it showed up, and it hasn't multiplied - yet.

I ve had mine nearly 20 years Wylie I have about 6 flower stems its in a dry earth part by my path. Yet my golden yellow one has had to be thinned out a Thug in damp ground.
