Hi Sheila, I always call these Coleus too, but now they're called Solenostemon, I wish they would leave names alone, they've been Coleus for 60 years to my knowledge, Derek.

An excuse to put the price up I reckon I ve noticed even the cheap shops for plants have doubled in price Derek and Homebird.

Hi 3d, yes you're right, they're blaming it on Brexit, because millions of plants come from Holland, and the drop in the value of the pound, puts everything that comes from europe more expensive, but when everything settles down, and the rest of europe realizes that the world won't come to an end when we leave, prices will settle down, Derek.

I don't know if you can take cuttings from them to keep indoors over the winter but worth a try. I remember growing them from seed.

You could also try placing a cutting or two into water to see if they root that way.

Have bought lots of these this year, OH takes cuttings and keeps them in the porch overwinter, some take, some don't!!

A lovely plant. I have rooted cuttings without difficulty. You should be able to keep it going through the winter(indoors), & then take some cuttings next year when it gets a bit straggly.
