This pot which also contains Hymenocallis is just shoved in the garagefor the winter. Grown outdoors they grow much larger blooms on stems that are shorter and sturdier. Vastly superior grown outdoors.

It is the first time that I've grown the common house type outdoors. I knew that they are quite cold hardy so I decided to let nature take its course and the result has been outstanding! The Hymenocallis came into bloom today as well.

Hi Meanie, lovely Amaryllis you have there! :-))
I have had plants in flower continuously since the turn of the year! I'm now down to my last 2 plants. I do have just one more with a bud down the neck of the bulb but that won't flower this month, it will wait till August!
Mine don't usually flower out of doors as I keep them on the windowsills of the bedrooms or kitchen till the flowers start to come out when I move them to the living room. When the flowers are finished I move them outside to the balcony.
