Tarindus indica - Tamarind Tree

Tarindus indica - Tamarind Tree (Tarindus indica - Tamarind Tree)

This Tamarind tree is around the corner from where I live and is loaded with fruit, which can hardly be seen. Photo taken July 09, 2017.

Oh yes, Tamarind is very good and sweet. There's popular drinks make from the fruit. It's very similar to Carob (Ceratonia siliqua) and Ice-cream-bean (Inga edulis) fruit. Carbo and Inga are very popular trees here in California. I've posted several pics of both on GoY in the past.

I just read a couple of years ago somebody in soucal said that Tamarind wont grow in California.
That looks fine to me.

There's another around the corner from this one. LOL!

Did you ever see this one? It's taller than this one (in the pics) which is around 22 ft tall.

I'm going to get some better pics of the fruit. I need to use my camera not my iPhone camera to get a better close up.
