Thank you for that information Wylie this flower has died off now but another two smaller buds remain to open the first large bud I knocked off by accident then this flower opened .

It does seem the buds are so easily knocked off. Really annoying if it's the first time flowering!

This does show something important: If you take a ruler and put it not quite touching the front of the petal and record that number. Then measure the petal from the point of the "Y" to the end of the petal, stretching it out to get an accurate length (it's the only time you touch a petal to make a measurement). Divide that by the width measurement, and if it is a minimum of 4, it is a spider. When I measured the one I want to call 'Neighborhood Watcher', it came out to 3.8, so it wasn't a spider.
