Things that need hot are in one of my best spots for them. I wish the other yards were as sunny.

Thank you Penny. The banana- is doing well on less then average water for it. Once they get some size, they do better then small ones on the same amount of water. I guess their roots reach deeper.

Thats great Stan does this one have bananas Stan as some dont . Yes shows what power the roots have to go down so deep through all that earth.

I dont think these do. They might be sterile. I think all are tissued cultured by the millions. Popular. When they flower and die..most of the time, they make no pups. Something very un banana like.

Thats a shame it does nt produce bananas for you I would imagine if it did it would need a lot of watering.

Its actually fine on average watering. I could never grow tree ferns on what I give to this banana. Why,My jungle plants are probably on borrowed time Penny. Soon, just a potted plant here and there from the wet tropics. I've been adding more and more dry plants. Seeing them do so well with little effort makes that the direction to go.

That would be such a shame if you lost your jungle plants Stan. People are doing the same here buying more dry tolerant plants but I ll believe this global warming when I see it yes we might have dry spots of weather but we do get lots of rain days here. My sister's have horses no watering on their field they have to carry and stack loads of big plastic cartons my sisters have studied the weather and find it will rain at the least every 31 days .

Here its all about the cost of water. What was such a cheap commodity for nearly my whole life..is going up much faster then then the cost of living..100x wages-seemingly.
Plus, the nurserys now offer so much variety in Cactus and Succulents, drought tolerant plants. Not like when I was a kid and you had just the dry tolerant basic plants available.

It's the same here Stan wages low cost of living expensive goingup especially with heating fuel gas or electric. I did read a while back that America had a shortage running out of water because of the way they have diverted the natural flow.
I always thought the Grand Canyon was a river which fed the people . So much water is used now with manufacturing and house hold products machines swimming pools things that was only used by the very rich years ago but now a norm for most plus more immigration. . I suppose it's the government's way of rationing a bit like survival of the fittest in this case survival of the richest.
Yes we did nt have garden centres or nursery s here either years ago which use a lot of water . Shame you dont get the
dry tolerant plants any more.
