While this is a more compact crinum, the flowers are about the same size as the larger species types.

What a lovely colour.
Can I ask do the Crinums go naturally dormant in the Azores? What I am really asking is when is it best to divide, my white remained in leaf all winter, now I've got 3 daughter bulbs in the same pot.

Some of the Crinums go dormant, but not this one. I wouldn't be too hasty to divide as they really resent any disturbance. Fall would be the time to divide, if you must. They don't multiply that fast. If you get a seed, it must be planted as soon as it is ripe.

Thank you for that info Wylie, and side tracking you and your beautiful photo. I bought my Crinum as a dry bulb in September, so will try then to ease a couple of daughters off the side.

If it is that new, just find a large pot to grow the whole thing in. This one had several new bulbs form, and I haven't touched them. It is better to let them grow on another year so they are strong enough to survive being prized off.
