This is when that yellow ginger gets out of control. I keep pulling it out, and it keeps coming back.

Looks lovely in clumps but not if it's rampent is it the self seeds that spread or the roots. If it's seeds chop the flowers off before they appear. I would dig it all up and place in pots on hard a standing by the house.

The tall grass in the back is also a pest. It is that weak invasive type that looks like bamboo.

Can you not dig all the root area up that contains the grass and ginger to kill them .

They are growing in a very rocky area, and any piece left behind will regrow. If I put a piece of the ginger on top of a stone wall, it just sprouts roots and carries on.
