Thugs Corner

Blue Agapanthus in front of Fuchsia 'Sharpitor' which is in thugs corner. Sharpitor is rampant, huge and its days numbered. As it overhangs the pavement and block the late sun from my garden. I started to prune the offending branches, 3 days ago and was stung by a bee. Still suffering. In revenge I have chopped it down in the rain, no bees around today. Just the root to remove sometime!!

Dd, haha, reaction has bee n the size of a plate!
Dawn, the Fuchsia was nice, absolutely covered in flowers. I used to cut to the ground each year, but I'm going to attack the root today, with an axe. What could possibly go wrong?

If still sore or itchy as Dawn has mentioned antihistamine for the next couple of days will sort it out ...

Funny enough I was cutting the old flower spikes off the kniphophia today and got attacked by 4 or more honey bees feeding on the ones still in full flower which is odd for them to do.

Agapanthus is looking impressive ......

Thanks, I've been using antihistamine, 5 days on, it's gone down a lot, now I'm using Calamine lotion.
With all this rain, I think the bees are having a hard time foraging and dont want gardeners getting in the way of their collecting.
3pb, the root is now out, my, was it a huge lump.
