That would be about right Wylie. Can't wait until November when we go to Portugal again.

I know I tried several times to use this, but nothing took. So I will try harder next year.
November is not the best month to come to the Azores. It is the transition period into winter, and can rain every day for a solid month. Then the winds start really blowing. But it is such a relief from the summer heat & humidity, I look forward to it.

We've visited Portugal in early November for the past 4 or 5 years and always had lovely weather at temperatures just right for us. Fingers crossed we're lucky again this year.

There is a big difference between Continental Portugal and either of the Island groups. I think the only place on the mainland I would be comfortable is around Sagres. It is way too hot and on fire this time of year, and freezing except for the Algarve in winter. But it does get windy here. Sometimes it can be a challenge to take the trash to the bin just up the street.

We've stayed in the usual places but I think our favourite so far is Monte Gordo as it's nice and flat and easy walking. I had no idea the weather was so different on the Islands.
