Now got to wash them all. There is plums, greengage, runner beans and courettes. Also some tomates but I have washed them and put them away. Oh and a few apples. Only a couple of damsons as they are not quite ready yet. :-)

Isn't it great when you reap the fruits of your labour.

Not sure how I missed this Jan, but that's some harvest. Well done!

Green finger, I am so sorry I missed your comment, had some problems with my eyes but much better now. Thank you, 1st year I've grown some of these and it made them taste so much nicer lol.
Thanks, Waddy, that was only the start of it. Had lots of courgette and they are still going, it's just getting to them before the voles. Picked the damsons the other day, well the ones I could reach, got 4 of the large freezer bags full. My daughter plans to make jam with them. :-).

In our veggie plot all is finished now, we've taken down the bean poles, dug all the spuds up & courgette plants just about exhausted, toms still going strong.
We take our excess to the village shop, it's run by volunteers & all helps to keep it going.

Green finger, Think I will have to get rid of the courgette plants as the voles are eating them before I get to them. Still getting a few runner beans and tomatoes nearly finished but voles have even got into thee greenhouse and eaten the lower tomatoes :-(. That is lovely idea taking them to your local shop. I have not done that much this year but hope to do more next year as long as I get the vole population down over the winter.

Jen, On courgettes, if it's just the end bit nibbled we cut that off as the rest is fine but if the voles are only leaving you an end bit then I think some traps are needed.

It wasn't just the end bit. They had eaten nearly half as it was just a baby lol. Have put out a live catch trap and caught 4 so far but as I am seeing new tunnels into the lawn every morning know I have a real glut of them. Trouble is with all the natural food about, they are not going into the trap. Had a pest control guy out the other day and he confirmed my thought that it's the wrong time of year to trap them.

Oh dear, that's not very helpful, so when is the best time?
Did pest man offer any advice to help with now.

He said in the colder months when there is not so much natural food about. He did say fill every hole with sharp sand as they don't like that. Don't really want to go the sharp sand route as there are so many tunnels and my soil is already very sandy as I live on sandstone. Top soil is only about a foot deep and was already looking of ways to improve it, not add more sand! Lol. The good news is the trap had another one in it this morning so that is now 5 I have caught. I have been baiting the trap with peanut butter but he said to also use honey.
