I love these old photos Lady Essex. I used to have one of my Grandparents. My Grandfather was a signalman in WW1. But sadly it got damaged. Lovely photos of your Mum, you are no doubt very proud of her :)

I have loads of old family photos my dad was in the RAF in ww2 so was my eldest sister after my sister still has my dads neckless of the air force wings he bought for my mum.

Cottagekaren's. How badly is the ruined photo, it may be able to be restored, amazing what can be done these days :o)).
Thrupennybit's. My Mum was in Signals :o)), some Wren visiting the camp where she was stationed & while she was having a shower the rotters Stole her necklace with a cross on it & would you believe it.....her Knicker Elastic too.
Nice to have things that people have from the War Days, we still have a lot of Postcards of Tanks & Cannon Guns that my Grandad bought when he was in the 1st World War, we have his medals as well, he was badly burnt when an Incendiary bomb went off in the dugouts, had shrapnel coming out of his body till the day he died at 86yrs.
