A bulb that gets planted very deep - at least 12". The little bamboo stick on the right is trying to keep the cats out of the pot this is in, but a squirt of water seems to work best.

What a beauty how tall is it to have to be buried so deep. Lol yes spraying water is the best cats do not like it.

While the stalk is only about 10" tall, the neck on the bulb is very long. There are bulbs that burrow down, and this is one of them. I was going through the bulb containers of those that I started last from by seed, and some of them were already an inch down. Others stay near the surface, so I replanted them that way.

Ahrr that explains it then all to do with the neck O shall have to remember that in future good job you 're planted them then.
