It's a red-orange. I really like this shrub. I used to have one years ago.

I'll post another photo of some other shrubs growing at Alcazar Plaza Gardens in the middle of Balboa Park. They have a lot there. They were in a little more shade, though.

I have a B.variegata seedling growing on at the moment.

Thanks! :>)) B. variegata grows everywhere here. It's very widely grown as a street tree. It flowers in late winter, spring...then looks horrible afterwards for a month or so as it looses its leaves...then quickly comes back into growth.
