Pandanus utilis - Hala Tree

Pandanus utilis - Hala Tree (Pandanus utilis - Hala Tree)

There's many Hala trees at Quail Botanical Garden. This is one of the smallest ones in the gardens. Later, I'll post a pic of a much large ones' trunk and aerial roots. Photo taken Sept. 5, 2017.

Yes, I like this one. It's still pretty big even though it's the smaller one growing in the gardens.

Must be a "primitive plant" display..the 3' Dragonfly is a tip off.
Pandanus are different..like Pines,Palms, and Cycads rolled into one. Good color on that one.

If I had a big harden I would nt say no to it either. I dread how big the other sizes are if this one is small.

The one I have took that 108F only a month into being potted from bare root. I see just small burn spots. I was going to move it..but didnt-lol. I did water.

lol Stan .?

Stan,

It's not a primitive display. However, I know with the big, fake dragon fly, I see why you thought that. Lol!

It's great your Hala tree didn't get burned in that nasty heatwave!
