This one was in full bloom at Quail Botanical Gardens. I wish my plant looked so good. lol. Photo taken on Sept. 5, 2017.

I used to have one bigger and more spectacular than this one when I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area. I think they like it much better up in the SF Bay Area. I used to see them 6 to 8 ft tall and wide with hundreds of flowers. They looked like giant candelabras.

Yes, it is. I have one in the front garden. It's not quite as big as this one...and it should be flowering soon, also.

It's definitely not as spectacular as this one. Actually, this one is not as spectacular as the ones I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Yes they do say to get a plant to grow well is mimic its natural enviroment.

Yes, the leaves will actually just burn in direct hot sun.

Yes I thought they would its good to have one that likes shade by others as you can have layers of plants .
