If you're interested 3d, check out the Canadian Shield. It's not an insurance company, ;-) it's a glacier produced area of exposed ancient igneous rock running north from approx. the 45th parallel of latitude.

Thank you Lori I shall check that out.

You would love Malham Cove Yorkshire by where my daughter lives you can camp there to I ve climbed the diverted waterfall years ago now the original one has started up again . if you google Malam Cove and go to pictures or images it was created by the ice age across the road is a cave with a beautiful wood where the Water Babies book was written about.

The original waterfall back up and working.

thanks for this 3d...
That waterfall is totally amazing! quite a lot of water there, too.
I also saw the report of the gas cloud that came over from France! A report I read on facebook said it was chlorine gas.

Amazing Lori ,will this be the center of your ground floor , the Blue John Mines are very interesting as well in Castleton Derbyshire , I believe its the only place in the world where its mined I have a ring & earings set with it also a tiny dish , the little dish is stunning when you hold it up to the light ..

Thanks for the info 3d. Is anywhere safe anymore?
I think I may make two levels, Amy ..the rock will be the "basement" area with a fireplace/stove for heat and above that the staging for the telescope with windows and a trap door into the lower area.. but that's today's plan..who knows what may evolve when the work begins!
Blue John sounds beautiful. safe to say blue my very favourite colour. That and turquoise!
We have amethysts here.. they're a dark grape colour purple which has a really interesting crystal structure but can be tumbled and polished. I have earrings and a necklace made from it. There are also strange substances/minerals that formed in heat too.. like mica (vermiculite) and asbestos useful because they are inert and won't conduct heat. Ironic...
