Euonymous Silver Queen Shimmers in the Sun

Euonymous Silver Queen Shimmers in the Sun

Who can have a problem on a day like today? Aside from the people of Florida where I have family. They are about to be devastated by Hurricane Irma. Please keep Florida in your thoughts and prayers for a favorable outcome. The weather is gorgeous here in New York. I hope it stays this way. We had our share of storms.

Thank You, Likewise :)

My oldest friend is currently on the run from Irma. She lives in the Keys. I am worried about her. But hopefully she will have a home to go back to....:( i don't think I shall ever complain about the British climate again. With all the rain, my garden is absolutely beautiful and we've had a lovely day today. Just like yours :)

My thoughts are with all those suffering in the path of the hurricanes.

Yes, prayers from here too :(

That's great, Thanks. Karen - The storm is larger than the whole state of Florida. There is no escape at this point. I hope she finds a safe shelter.

My thought and prays are with them. As you say Karen, our weather not so bad after all.

It's tragic to see such devastation. We sailed in the BVIs once (in November) and saw Necker, Richard Branson's island, which has now been ruined. It's hard to imagine the suffering everywhere - I do hope all your loved ones will be safe - my heart goes out to them.

Thanks everyone. They left their home in the Keys and drove to Tampa...which is now one of the worst areas to be! But what can you do? Theres no telling where these things will go. At least they are now off the beach area and out of the evacuation zone.

Karen: I have a lot of family in Tampa too. At least the storm veered off to the west and weakened a bit. I hope everybody is OK.

Thank you Sheila. I don't think the storm was quite as bad as predicted. At least the eye stayed off the coast in the Gulf. Everybody I know is accounted for. Now it's just cleaning up the huge mess & getting power and normalcy restored. We are now looking at Hurricane Jose! I heard rumors that it's heading my way. Last thing I want to hear.

Have you heard from your friend, Karen? Tampa was hit hard.

No...not yet today. I hear they have shut all roads in to the Keys, so heaven knows when she will find out if she still has a home to return to. I believe they are still waiting for all the water to come back to the bay as well. It was almost completely drained yesterday, which is very worrying. What goes up must come down.

LOL That was very strange to see those people walking where the bay should be. That was caused by the storm's wake. I've been to Tampa Bay several times. It's only waste deep. The water should creep back in without much ado. I'm sure your friend is fine - lots of power outages, fallen trees, power lines and flooding. Now she has a story to tell.
