Janis Ruksans says it "readily sets seed ... plants increase well vegetatively." I've had it for three years now, but it didn't appear last year and I thought I had lost it. Something nibbled through the stem two days after the flower opened this year, and the whole thing collapsed. :-(

Andrew I would have the same if not worse problem were I to try them in the open ground hence why I keep them well off the ground,lot of work but i enjoy it.

Very nice fingers crossed it will self seed Andrew .My first Saffron sativus crocus bloomed today ....
