Do you get the autumn blues?

Yes it is Stera. Ceanothus 'Gloire de Versailles' always puts on a second flowering in the autumn. It can also be pruned (to within one bud of the previous year's growth) so is a little easier to keep under control. Here it is teamed with aconitum carmichaelii 'Arendsii' which is also a late flowerer.

I must look out for this one, we have three evergreen Ceanothus, which unfortunately are short lived....so would be good to have something different.....

Hadn't noticed the Aconitum - lovely!.
I have an evergreen Ceanothus that was mature when we moved here 11 years ago and still going strong. It even responds well to hard pruning which i've heard they don't normally. No idea of the variety though.

Is this the one you showed us a little while ago Andrew? Its so beautiful. I've never seen one in flower at this time of year.
