In some city planting. I doubt the city planted it..must be part of an old long gone estate.

I was reading a local Magazine ( Sunset) Penny about a landscaper doing a Sonoma Winery entrance with 19 young palms. I wonder if they survived the fires?
There is a road near here where they planted 1/2 mile of young wine palms. In a century it will look great.

It might take a century to be like the photo's plant, but in 25-30 years it should be trunking tall enough to be able to walk under the fronds. When you consider that will go on for a half mile...I will be impressed. Well,in my next life. It takes two lifespans for these palms!

Yes, Those trunks are in the 4-5' wide range. Massive pillars. A palm trunk with a 10' circumference isn't going to shoot up like the rest. Although Canary Island Date palm is much faster on a trunk maybe over 3' wide.

Very big then Stan interesting a Canary island date palm grows so quick.
