Impatient for spring and your camellias to flower? Camellia sasanqua is an autumn-flowering species for milder parts of the country. Moist, acid, humus-rich soil, but give it a spot where it receives more sun than you would normally give a camellia, although shaded from the hottest summer conditions. This variety will grow to around six feet.
