Before the Billbergia nutens flowers, this other billbergia performs. This is larger, the bracts are red instead of pink, and the flowers are different.

I have several of these in my woods. They like it there and don't require a lot of attention. The wooded area in my backyard is too shaded for them to do well.

Your lucky to have so many so do they like dapple shade.

In my backyard, there is a metrosideros, which is dense; pittosporums, which are thick and dense; a chestnut that doesn't let light through; and it all adds up to a great place to lounge in the summer. Broms like bright light, which is what my woods up the hill provide.

Is that the Christmas tree they are lovely.
Yes if they are all dense they no light would get through. Sounds a lovely place to sit. Its nice to have some thing different growing in a woodland.
