Finally, I found a pic and it's blurry!
Claytonia virginica, Spring Beauty, Purslane Family Portulacaceae. Small lowgrowing plant bearing loose clusters of Pink or White flowers (0.5 to 0.75 inches wide). The petals are veined with darker pink streaks. Five stamens have pink anthers. Midway up the stem are a single pair of opposite, narrow, elongated leaves which taper at both ends.

So glad you put a pic up of virginica as I thought you were referring to the Claytonia, sometime called miners lettuce. This is altogether much prettier.

Amy said she would share..I'm so glad you've both had success with them.... YES!! they will be lovely additions to the edge of your forest. Fair exchange, Dawn, because Amy sent me some English Bluebell corms. Every year she sends me pics of the Arisaema and I send her pics of the bluebells! I'm so glad that my little patches of JITP are related to the UK Jacks.
Siris: I saw that on your page and knew it would be of interest. quite a difference one to the other. the flowers of the virginica have a sweet smell. I used to pick handfuls for my Mom to put in a jar above the sink, so she could smell their lovely scent.
Post Script: I realized that I haven't seen seed pods on them... I will look for them this spring and if I can find some, would you like some?

Wow Lori, what a beauty. I’ve read about Claytonia but they seem quite elusive here in the UK. Thanks for sharing.
Lori, I’m delighted to have a piece from your garden in mine - years ago Amy gave me a couple of seeds from your Arisaema triphyllum which grew and are now in the garden, I should lift and move to the woodland.
