So far only one small leaf turned tan. I worry now about gophers or root rot getting to it. I think its gotten large enough to be temperature hardy.
I have plans for the front yard...out with Agave attenuata maybe,Agave americana ( would allow Aloe speciosa to grow faster)..maybe my last stand with exotics babied in pots- planted out.
Small yards man decisions have to be made or its just static-lol.

That's great news about the mango tree! :>))
Good luck with the landscaping. It's sounds like it going to be a beautiful project. I really like Agave attenuata the best! It doesn't have those horrible spines at the leaf tips.
Is this mango tree flowering now?

Its looking like a good flowering season. The tree itself is healthy- but now weeks after the coldest night..you can see some top leafs were singed in that one cold night. Still, not much and with a new flush in May,should look fine.
Interesting is that my 3' Champagne Mango..never flinched. Not a cold mark on it. I wish I could combine the two Mangoes into the perfect tree!

That's terrific! You should get some good mangoes this year. :>))
How was all the rain? We got jipped here in San Diego. We only got a trace of rain, when it's was forecasted to have at least one inch. I'm very, very disappointed! :>((

I think we got like an 1.25" out of those storms. So far 3" for the month and 18" since October. Right on average!

That's great news! No watering for you. We have officially in San Diego 3.18 inches of rain this season. It's horribly dry here! :>((

Something weird about the stats- the rest of the bay area is at 66% of normal. I got my stats from the NWS. I looked to make sure they were of this year.
You might want to double check I didnt make a mistake. Huh.

I guess there was a dry period even in the Bay Area during February and part of January.

See who else is growing Mangifera indica (Mango).
See who else has plants in genus Mangifera.

The Ensete banana will grow out quickly. The mango tree looks great! Hopefully, all those flower buds will set fruit.
I just took some pics of the flowering mango trees here. Some pics didn't come out because of the sun. The one I really wanted to post has so many flowers and a huge flush of growth. The photo came out horribly dark! The sun was on the other side of the tree.
