Mango Flowering and flushing growth (Mangifera indica)

Its full of flowers they look pretty pink ?

The new leaves are burgundy, pink and turn cinnamon color before ultimately turning green. The flowers are on long spikes. The flower color is light yellow.

It's amazing to see such growth on the mango trees over the last couple of months. The flowering on the mango trees this year is very similar to 2016 (very floriferous!)

I need to find that 50' (16 m) tall mango tree I discovered back in 2016. I got lost off the freeway and discovered it.

Without a doubt..some flush a deeper red and some just have a natural deeper green leaf.
But! Since its Mango,none are selected for looks..its the fruit.
I would not doubt that some of the nicest "flushers" and overall color could be bred into ornamental trees. Just no market. Oh,well.

I've never seen one flush in green. It's usually the dark burgundy or wine-red color fading to cinnamon or pink, or both colors.
Beauty is part of the appeal of having this tree. Although, I am more interest in the fruit. I absolutely love fresh mangoes!

No not in the flush..but when they turn green some are of a deep green..and others healthy, are a lighter green.
I was looking at your epic post ( dominates google images) on PT of San Diego Mangoes...one was immense. It must have been pushing 40'. Its like some others seemed to grow much more vertical then wide.

Yes, I have seen some really nice big, tall mango trees here. I think people prefer to have them smaller so the fruit is easier to pick.

I really want to find that really tall mango tree. I think it's 4 or 5 miles south-east of downtown San Diego. I found it when I got lost a few years ago. It had thousands of flowers spikes. The tree was most likely 50' tall. It was bigger than a telephone pole (which is usually 50').

I was at the local home improvement nursery's. Prices are way up there. I wish I had grown a bunch of Mango seeds..I could have sold them.
Mine was a stick in the ground going on 5 years ago. But,at this rate, its going to be a 10 year plan for a good harvest every year.

I don't go to nurseries very much anymore. I'd rather sell plants then buy them.

I'm growing Manila mangoes from seed. I have three germinating that I starting in ziplock back on Feb 18th. I can't believe how fast they're germinating.

I think it'll be much less than 10 years before you get a good crop of mangoes. Your tree is pretty large and if you get a lot of growth this year, next year's crop should be even bigger.
