Brian, do you think that C. solida are easier than C. Flexuosa? My Beth Evans are lovely, but I don’t seem able to grow the blue ones here, and my yellow one has also died.

Karen they are as different as chalk and cheese solida has a small corm bit like a small crocus to look at, flexuosa has a creeping root stock of very soft roots almost on the soil surface which can rot very easily it is also prone to aphid at ground level given the right conditions to thrive and a bit tricky to control systemic will kill it dead.having said all that I have seen it growing in Devon a yard across so yes certainly here solida is almost indestructible.
the yellow ones are on rootstocks as well very soft growth they don't survive here.

I shall stick with solida from now on. Theres a lovely white one would be great in my back garden!

No, its C. Solida ‘White Swallow’ that Kevock have, and theres another one, White Knight as well.
