Maddening, isn't it Dawn, and it looks very familiar, but I'm sure Siris will know. (Could it be a Deutzia??)

Could it be a Spiraea Dawn?

Almost sure it's Polygonum (Persicaria) affinis either Darjeeling Red or Donald Lowndes, a low growing ground covering shrubby perennial. Height with flowers 25cm. As the shoots extend pin them into the soil to root, if you want it to cover more area. Definitely not it's bigger cousin 'Superba'

Thanks Siris, I googled but couldn’t find any pics if the stems :-)

It will all be revealed soon enough. I had a mystery plant for ages. That's what happens (in my case) when you pinch seeds. :o)
I also have a marker pen that has decided it isn't permanent.

How funny I have just purchased both those plants Siris, so will let you know if it is ......I hope it will be taller than you say!
