Not sure if its S.actinophylla- the houseplant, or S.pueckleri another Sheffy grown in California.
But,its the biggest Schefflera I've seen so far,no matter what.

Stan,
I think it's Schefflera pueckleri (Tupidanthus calyptratus), typically actinophylla isn't as dense.

I think so too. Thanks Andy. Its the biggest I've seen. I had one for 30 years..cut to the ground in 1990. Came back from a inch of trunk protected by leaf mulch. Grew until 1998,was top frozen...came back once more.
Then about 10 years ago..when gophers started to annihilate my palms and other yard plants,it wilted...and that was that.
Still,I could never say for sure this was another because only The Dry Garden sells S.pueckleri regularly. Never seen it for sale at the Box stores.
This might be a plant guys home. What does he have in the backyard?..lol.

I had one for many years, also. It was frozen back in 1990, also. It came back very strong. I had it planted in front of the Bruce Drive house. It was cut down many years ago, though. :>((
I think it's a much hardier than actinophylla, because I remember some large one around San Leandro, Hayward in protected spots which were not damaged in the 1990 freeze...which was pretty amazing.
It's strange that none of the big box stores sell this plant. It used to be very commonly sold everywhere.
