Karen so pleased you introduced me to the culinary sages. So colourful.

I can never get this through more than one winter

That's a shame, Andrew, especially considering all those difficult rare plants you cultivate so successfully.

Siris, mine was only in a 9cm pot on purchase, a couple of years ago.
How strange Andrew, and you down south, my yellow one Icterina looked dodgy at one point but going now. Purpurascens is really strong.
To take cuttings, literally put in a glass of water and they root in a couple of weeks.

I have 2 Icterina that looks like the frost never touched it, a tricolour that was cut back by half and only just beginning to grow a tiny bit. I think they need to be replaced every couple of years. The rest of my sages were all removed after the Beast. They looked terrible. Im replacing them with Geraniums. I’m glad you’re enjoying them Dawn :)

I find that Tricolor is not as hardy as Icterina or the purple forms. My last purple lasted ten years and I only replaced it because it had got so scruffy.

Thanks for the advices :)

They need replacing with cuttings before they get old leggy and ugly.

Lol I've got that stage to look forward to.
I've gone off lavender, just goes leggy and woody for me, I've tried trimming lightly but ......

I find myself getting older and uglier...but sadly, no leggier than I was. ;)

Ha, ha, Karen, hope you don't get rooted out and replaced!

What a great colour. Mine is doing well, obviously not as large as yours.
