Beth says she’d like to know who named it as nothing to do with her lol

Good to see this in flower - thanks Dawn. My sister gave me one for the new garden, but it’s yet to bloom :)
Sad to hear that Beth Chatto died on Sunday at the age of 94.

Yes Sheila, very sad, I've learnt alot from her books. In one of her books, she says the name of this one is nothing to do with her, I think it was named in America, cheeky.
I hope yours flowers soon.

Thanks Dawn. I’m amazed that there’s been no obituary for Beth Chatto in our paper . . .

I didn't know until I saw Greenfingers blog!

Sheila, I have just read (on-line) an obituary to her in The Guardian.

Yes, I saw that Shirley, thanks, but there's been nothing in The Times which is puzzling.

Well if this delightful plant reminds us of a great plants person that's good, but producers are supposed to ask permission from a person to name a plant after them.

In her book she said it was nothing to go with her. Luckily it’s a nice one

Hmm Sheila, perhaps your paper are saving it for the weekend edition(s) ?

At last - The Times have published Beth Chatto's obituary today; it's very interesting. Apparently flower arranging helped her with placing plants (in the right place!) in her garden :))

I hoped they would acknowledge her passing ...
