Blanket Flower (unknown variety)

Blanket Flower (unknown variety) (Gaillardia x grandiflora)

if anyone reconises this variety would love to know the name, it seems to be quite a low growing one, approx 6-8" - unless it intends on getting much bigger! lol and the flowers are approx 2-3" accross.

That's the first BF I've seen that's all pink! Very nice, Majee... where did you find it?

I like it, Angie! Is it a perennial?

it' not a true pink Lori, it may just be the lighting on my camera, its more a redy orange, sometimes a bit burgandy - especially as it fades. and as far as i know it is perennial. but i don't have the variety name to check it Spritz.

Gaillardia is a perennial over here...so I'm pretty sure it will be perennial in your climate...My camera has started doing strange stuff with colours must be uv filtres...

Do I see a hint of yellow around the edges? I have one that looks a bit like it called "Burgandy" but it doesn't have the yellow edges. I find mine start out small the first year and get larger and denser the next.

I found a picture of a burgandy with a hint of yellow around the edges, have a look and see what you think: http://www.dianeseeds.com/gaillardia-burgundy.html

You are most welcome! I am glad I could help. I have way too many unknowns in my garden from the prior owners and when I just bought what I liked and didn't keep track. Now I am frustrated by those gaps too.
