This is a gorgeous hybrid palm which has gotten very popular in Southern California over the years. It grows fast and is relatively drought-tolerant. Photo taken at Sea World San Diego on July 11, 2018.

Penny,
It's a highly ornamental palm which only grows to 30 ft (10 m) tall.

Yes, it's supposedly is...not sure, though. There's many at this house about 1/2 miles from where I live. I haven't seen them lately, though.

But,in San Diego where the species Foxtails thrives? I think I would go with that. I've seen photo's of them well watered and they carry more fronds then the hybrid.
But the F.L. is not as common so that's got it going for it.
Then too you have Royal Palms down there and everybody loves those.

Foxtail palms are very common here in San Diego. I think that Foxylady palms are much more ornamental, especially if they receive regular water.
Royal palm have gotten a lot more popular here. They appear to tolerate dry conditions pretty well...they look much better with regular summer water, though.
