Cherokee Purple Tomatoes

It certainly is for your they are big ones.

yes these get quite big, but the flavor I really love - sort of a smokey-sweet flavor. Excellent on burgers or in anything.

They sound very tasty I love tomatoes have them on toast quite freqently just slice them on top of toast refreshing in the heat .

They are very tasty just plain. I love to half them,then fry them up with my bacon & eggs, a little salt 'n pepper!

Sounds scrumptious I am only allowed to tomatoes out of all of them.

Are these like the large beefsteak tomatoes Paul? We are enjoying our tomatoes and I am loving our little sungold ones. They are so sweet in flavour, I have about five or six little ones with my lunch.

Hi Linda. These will get about the size of an orange, but the flavor is intense. The sungolds are wonderful. I grew those last year. I always had them fried up with my bacon & eggs and wow I miss them for breakfast. I tried a different variety this year, but will be going back to sungolds next season. Cherokee Purple, Sweet 100s. Amy sent me seeds for Manx Marvels and the plants are loaded, but not ready to pick just yet. Can't wait to try those.

My Cherokees are looking exactly the same grown from the seed you sent me Paul ,I was wondering if they were slow to turn red but obviously not ... I can't wait to try them ...

Hi Amy! So nice to hear from you! Glad your Cherokee Purples are growing well. They are very meaty & flavorful. Not many seeds inside. Yes they take their sweet time to turn purple, but they will get there. Especially the first ones. They seem to take forever. My Manx Marvels that you sent me the seeds for are loaded with tomatoes. They are doing the same thing. Patience is a virtue I guess. :)

They can get quite large. Today I had to place bricks underneath the tomatoes for support, so the stems won't snap. We have more storms coming up the coast.

Paul the Cherokee Toms .are getting enormous , I tied them up but will have to do something to support them the branches are weighed down ,it's exciting ....
