Is it a statue of anyone in particular?

It's a statue of St Francis. I've had it many years.

St Frances the saint for animals my eldest brother and sister were christened in a church top of the road where we were all born on the church wall is a statue of animals at his feet and birds flying above next time I pass I will get a photo of it.

Thank you. This statue also has animals on it but you can only see the top of it in the photo. I'll take one of the whole statue for you to see.

Did you ever hear the story of how Lythrum was going to take over and ruin all our wetlands? ... no kidding, for years people were warned about the terrible purple loosestrife that was crowding out our native (?) marsh plants! Such drivel!
I love it! it's so pretty and when it seeds they fly on little tufts of fluff! In the far north it's called "fireweed" because it's one of the first colonisers after a burn.
