Hepatica nobilis

Hepatica nobilis

So it’s alive and has a flower bud, yay.
Andrew, I found it buried under The leaves, do I cut the ragged leaves off? It’s a new plant I planted last February

I leave them on. It looks like that plant needs all the help it can get :-)

It endured the heatwave of last year, it's in the wood, I hope it's ok.

They are woodland plants so appreciate some shade and moisture during the summer months. I am planting them between herbaceous peonies, a combination that seems to be working so far.

Ours are in shade under the cover of Camellia and Hellebores.....noticed it's very dry ATM, might have to water!!

This is in my woodland under deciduous trees, I think I planted before The Beast from the East then we had the dry summer, bad timing! would you feed it Andrew?

DA - I'd wait a couple of months until the threat of cold weather has passed. You don't want to force it into growth, only to get clobbered by The Beast From The East Mark 2

I see, thanks Andrew
