It's a real one off, such beautiful coppery colours which I just couldn't get in the picture. Very slow growing, just the top tiny 2 leaves in 2 years. This was a Wilko's offering, helpfully labelled as 'houseplant'.
Did you ever try taking cuttings Hywel?

Yes I tried cuttings but they never 'took' . I bought it in Lidl and there were 3 plants in the pot . I tried to separate them into individual pots but I don't think they liked it. I also tried leaf cuttings but they died also.
They never put the names on plants in Wilko. This one's called Kalanchoe ogrialis I found out.

just a small suggestion, Resi. some Cacti cutting benefit from a dry period before being put in compost... maybe the kalanchoe cutting needs some time to callous over?

Hi Marianne...We've been under the influence of a polar incursion...the most of the interior of the continent as far south as the US midwest have been experiencing very cold temps and winds along with it that make it feel even colder. T. and I are staying very close to the woodstove! lol...

It's that wind chill factor that's killing. Our minus 5 yesterday felt almost balmy with virtually no wind and bright sunshine. Keep warm and close to that stove Lori.
