The Crown Imperial has opened its flowers, in a sunny sheltered position. Now there are two stalks, presumable two bulbs.

I'm surprised at how quickly it came up and flowered, I thought it would be later.

I thought the same with mine also my Trillium was early Siris so just checked back on my last year photos and both my imperial Fritella and Trilium was in flower beginning of April so they are early must be that sunny warmth we had a few weeks back that's done it.

The Beast from the East delayed things last spring as well

Thank you Andrew I forgot about the beast from the east. Last year was the first time the Trillium flowered since Surrey Lad gave it me years ago so I had no idea what time of year it flowered.

3pb, Trilliums take ages to get to flowering size, then they just get better and better.
I found the Fritillary difficult to place, it's rather outer of character in my garden.

It was in a pot, but I'm not good at watering pots, so into the border in front of the bungalow.

Yes I recall yours being in a pot and you was trying to figure out where to plant it I bet it looks lovely in front of your bungalow. Yes you have to frequent watering pots.

It is behind the Iris which aren't tall yet, so when the Fritillary is just leaves, it won't show, not that its leaves aren't atractive, theyare a light bright green compared to the darker blue/green of the Iris.

The contrast of light leaves and blue /green leaves will look great together when the Iris reaches its height.
