Pieris japonica

Lots of flowers this year but a lot of bare branches in the shrub. It is in a tub & I have fed it, but is it likely to green up & get more fresh growth?

It's a lovely shape as well do you cut it back.

I have never pruned it Tbit. Do you think I should after it has finished flowering?

I ve known people clip there's with shears like a hedge not taking the stems away if it's doing well as it looks I would leave it.
