They were pretty good.

Nothing to really brag about other than I grew them and for sure pesticide free.
I have another bunch still on another stem. They look a little larger and rounder. Posed with store bought.
I notice the bunch that has grown over the roof is best looking- all that summer and winter roofing heat helps

Where they tasty Stan fantastic you grew these do they have seeds inside or are they GM as I learned from my grandson banana s use to have seeds until they made them into GM.

One branch did have seeds..the banana's had no taste..if taste like lawn is a flavor.
Another stalks were seedless but good. Not better than stor bought..along the same lines.
A third stalk is coming along. THAT one, might be best of all.
Sort of like the 3 little piggy bananas..ha.

I love home-grown bananas! I haven't had any in a few years. Maybe this year since the drought is over my plants will produce again.

Stan,

My Golden Finger banana is putting out a flower. It's been a few years since I've had any produce bananas. The drought has make it very difficult for my bananas, as you know they love water and fertilizer!

THAT'S one I wish I had tried again. My first was eaten by gophers in days after planting. I saw one photo of it in Berkeley looking great. Short banana with big leaves and a one big bunch. He later said somebody took the banana fingers. Looked good.
The wife bought Thai bananas at the store..tasted just like whatever I got. I don't think mine is Ice Cream after all. I did after all buy from a flea market guy. I think "Ice Cream" sounded more saleable then other names.

I'm hoping my plants and bananas will do very well this year. I just had a major trimming, weeding, on all sections of the garden yesterday. The landscape gardening company was here for more than 9 hours! My garden looks like a garden, again! Thank God! Lol!

Now, the work begins on rebuilding basins around the plants, trees and composting, mulching and fertilizing. I need to still organize potted plants, though. lol!

Funny,Andy..I built basins for the first time around the two mangoes..and once the pistol grip sprayer broke? My plants look even better with nothing to slow the water. A good soak in. My water bill went down a little as more plants are out of pots, and in the ground. Mulch. Nothing I trim from the shrubs is tossed out..it all stays under plants. As neatly raked as I can. It helps too to cut things as uniform as you can.
Congrats on the rejuvination.

I know it's a tremendous amount of work! UGH! However, it's worth it. It just takes time and patience!

Mulch can really help with water retention. It's really starting to get very hot here, so evaporation is a big, big problem. I have to be prepared. I don't want the huge water bills this summer!
