Sounds Good Karen. We are on a hill and although we have a small garden we have to be careful what we grow because of the winds. Gerry places small sticks in between the leaves to help support them. We put some protection around the small plants while they establish themselves.

Good thinking. I tried supporting mine with sticks too and it does help. But if we get gales, nothing will stop them tearing to shreds and the stalks snapping. I did think I'd be better growing them inside the greenhouse, but then they take up a lot of space....still, I might actually give that a try. it's not too late to buy a couple of plants. :)

Placing a low close knit net around the area where the plants are and secure with sticks is another thing that we sometimes do Karen. It helps to break up the force of the wind.

I've only just planted seed of Courgettes, bit late, but I've been busy.

They'll catch up Siris. When they start producing it's amazing how many courgettes we usually get. I love fried courgettes best.

I've battered them in the past, tasty. OH doesn't like, but his mother didn't make him eat his veg as a child!!

Siris when I was a child...a very long time ago, the food that was put in front of you....you ate, because that's all you had, we didn't get a choice...We had frost on the inside of the windows as there was no central heating, we didn't have a television until I was nine, and we had no telephone in the flat either.

Sounds like I'm of the same age as you. OH is even older!

I gave up on Courgettes because of the winds here Linda. But this year I am trying a little yellow squash. I’m hoping it will have smaller leaves!
