Nice Any, I bought one recently, Blueberry Flamingo (New Pink Variegated Evergreen Vaccinium corybosum Flamingo) no idea what it will be like. So ladies, are they in your gardens as ornamental shrubs?

Good question Dawn. I would say some yes, some no. I have four in pots that are on show. The other four are in raised planters around the greenhouse which are hidden so they are only for fruit. But I sometimes think about replanting them elsewhere so I can see them better.

Dawn mine were in massive pots until we moved here and then we decided to plant them in the garden to save watering them ( they do like a lot of water ) it must suit them here they've grown tremendously ,last year we had so much fruit I'm still using the berries from the freezer usually on my breakfast , I have 3 large shrubs ..

We only have one for show, the fruit is not good if you suffer with acid reflux, so we had to get rid of our other plants.....pity, because as Karen says good all-rounders, but we bought them a long time ago, so we had many years of enjoyment from them....

I love blueberries. They are gorgeous all winter with their bronzy red stems, they break bud earlier than most shrubs in the garden, then the flowers are so pretty and dainty and the fruit are delicious. And then, as if that's not enough...the fantastic autumn leaf colour. Its a perfect plant really isn't it! I now have 8!
